Meet Our Newest HVACR Inside Sales Rep

It’s always a cause for celebration when our Porter Pipe family grows, and today, we’re celebrating an exciting addition to our HVACR inside sales team! After 40 years of working on HVACR systems with his excellent problem-solving abilities, Guy Richards is bringing his expertise to the Porter Pipe family at our Addison headquarters.

Guy’s longstanding history in HVACR began when a family friend and operating engineer introduced him to the industry. Soon after, he enrolled at the Allied Institute of Technology for air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration—and never looked back.

Since then, he’s held a variety of positions, including Chief Engineer at the Chicago Board of Trade, assistant Chief Engineer at DePaul University, HVACR commissioner at Opus Construction Co., Facilities Manager of World’s Finest Chocolate and lastly an engineer at the Dirksen Federal Building. Throughout the course of his career, Guy has worked with Porter Pipe a number of times, utilizing our services for wholesale HVACR supplies and learning firsthand what our partnership brings to the table.

Familiar with our values and commitment from the customer side, Guy knew he’d fit right in on our team when a relative and fellow Porter Pipe team member reached out to him about the position. Now, he’s eager to get started on learning the sales side of the industry he’s grown to love, and of course, helping our customers with any and all of their HVACR needs.

From all of us at Porter Pipe, we’re happy to extend a warm welcome to this hardworking newest member of the team. We’re happy to have you here, Guy!
