Congratulations on Retirement, Jeff

Celebrating One of Porter Pipe’s Finest for 15 Years of Superior Service

After 15 years in the Porter Pipe family, we are happy to congratulate our very own Jeff Ellis on his retirement! A veteran and one of our inside sales representatives, Jeff has been an invaluable memberof our team since his first day. He exemplifies the values on which we pride ourselves at Porter Pipe:faith, family and teamwork, just to name a few.

Before he leaves us, we asked Jeff to pass down the knowledge he’s gained over the years. Naturally, he had great advice to “always follow up, customers appreciate that, and be able to multitask.”He also learned that “hard work and honesty pay off,”a valuable lesson to leave with a team he’s built a true sense of comradery with—comradery that will last far beyond his retirement.

When asked about a favorite memory from his time here, Jeff didn’t hesitate to reply. “Jim Mertes and I were standing outside at the old building when a flock of geese flew overhead and crapped on his head, back and beard. I was laughing so hard, I fell down.” His sense of humor is just one of the things we’ll truly miss about Jeff.

Of course, we are so excited to see where retirement takes him. Jeff is a true family man, committed to spending quality time with his wife, Susan, his children, Colleen, Erin and Conor, and his grandchildren, Rowan, Declan and Mia. One of his Porter goals was to take them on a Disney vacation, which he was able to do this past summer. Now, he’s focusing on his next adventures, including his son Conor’s wedding. He is also planning on traveling with Susan to many exciting locations, from Puget Sound to Myrtle Beach.

Here’s what Jeff is most looking forward to in retirement: spending time with his family and traveling. And, with
his newfound free time, Jeff plans on reading, fishing, woodworking and completing projects around the house. While we will always miss Jeff’s hard work, friendliness and enthusiasm for the job, we look forward to seeing everything retirement has in store for him and are extremely grateful to have had him in our family.

Thank you to Jeff for 15 years of commitment to the Porter Pipe family and congratulations on an incredible career! We couldn’t be more proud to have had you on the team all these years.
